Attention Summer Students - Summer Student Opportunities

The Township of Emo will be hiring summer students (ages 15-30) who plan on returning to school in the fall.

Applications in the form of a resume will be received for the following positions:

Recreation Program Assistant/Coordinator
Labourer for Parks Department

NO BURNING ALLOWED - A FIRE BAN is in effect until further notice.


RESTRICTED FIRE ZONE - ENTIRE NORTHWEST REGION - All outside burning is prohibited, including brush and grass burning, backyard fire pits, or cook stoves that use solid fuels (wood or charcoal). ALL PERMITS ARE CANCELLED.


BBQs that use propane are permitted with extreme caution.


The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) currently has a Restricted Fire Zone in effect for all the Northwest region. The FIRE BAN will remain in effect until the Restricted Fire Zone from the MNRF is lifted.


Important Dates for 2018 Municipal Election


Tuesday May 1, 2018 

-First day for candidates to file a nomination paper for the Office of Mayor, Councillor, or School Board Trustee

-First day for an individual or entity to file a notice of registration and advertise as a third party advertiser

-Campaign period begins once nomination paper or notice of registration is filed

Friday July 27, 2018

-Last day for candidate to file a nomination from 9am to 2pm

-Nominations or withdrawl cannot be accepted after 2pm

Monday October 22, 2018

-Voting day from 10am to 8pm

-Last day for third party advertising period

Fire Permits are required year round as per By-law No. 2016-29. 

Permits are obtainable at the Emo Municipal Office.
