MUNICIPAL SERVICES
Garbage Collection
Garbage is collected weekly in the village at a $5/month, which is part of the utility bill.
A private contractor provides service in the rural areas. Contact Randy at 486-3594 for more information.
Emo Landfill Site
The Emo Landfill Site is supervised three days a week for six hours a day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 10:00 to 12:00 mornings, and 1:00 to 5:00 afternoons.
-Identification cards are currently being issued to residents of the Township.
-The is no fee to use the landfill site, except for disposal of tires, or fridges with freon, if you are a taxpayer or a resident of Emo.
-There is a $50/year fee if you live within the 482 exchange, but not within the township of Emo, to use the dump and be issued an identification card.
-The fee schedule for non-residents is as follows:

Recycling Collection
Recycling service is also provided on a bi-monthly schedule in Emo (every other Friday) until July 15, 2002, when the town's membership in the Northwestern Ontario Recycling Association ends. Council is currently exploring recycling alternatives once Emo's membership in NORA has ended. |
